Nine Days Records New Album with Producer Jim Scott
Nine Days, the band that hit it big with the 2000 hit “Absolutely (Story of a Girl)”, has finished recording their seventh studio album with Grammy-award-winning producer Jim Scott!
Nine Days was formed in 1994, and released three albums independently before releasing “The Maddening Crow” through 550 Music on May 16, 2000. The single “Absolutely (Story of a Girl)” hit number one and their follow up single, “If I Am” broke Top 40 as well, peaking at #27.
Nine Days took a 10-year break from music to focus on their personal lives and pursue other interests. But in 2012, they reunited to put together a limited edition fan project. The overwhelming support from their fans was the motivation behind their recent project with Jim Scott. The new album was recorded in both Jim Scott’s Plyrz Studio in Los Angeles, California and (insert studio name) in New York.
Jim Scott is best known for his work as a producer for American rock band Wilco. He received multiple Grammy Awards as the Engineer on Red Hot Chili Peppers’ benchmark album Californiacation, Tom Petty’s Wildflowers, and Santana’s Supernatural. He’s also received recognition for mixing the Foo Fighters’ One By One and received three Grammy Awards for his work on the Dixie Chicks’ Taking The Long Way. Most recently, Jim was highlighted in the movie Sound City by Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters.
